In 2011 I completed an MBA in Entrepreneurship with distinction at the Gordon Institute of Business Science at the University of Pretoria and hold a Bachelor of Journalism degree from Rhodes University. I am currently the co-founder and CEO of Grenade, a technology start-up based in Johannesburg that develops content management software and mobile applications for the media and publishing industry.
Prior to starting my own business, I held various senior positions in the corporate sector including; Head of Digital at Auto Trader (South Africa), Digital Publisher of The Times Online/Times LIVE (Times Media), and new media lecturer at the School of Journalism & Media Studies (Rhodes University). I also established and directed AVUSA’s (now Times Media) first digital R&D unit, which developed a range of innovative web and mobile products, many of which were commercially successful.
I served on the board of the South African Advertising Research Foundation (SAARF) and did four terms on the Executive Committee of the Digital Media & Marketing Association (DMMA). I’ve also judged numerous awards and presented at conferences both locally and abroad.
